Lewis Hamilton's luck maybe changing after he successfully challenged Grosjean and Raikonnen to claim first place. The Lotus drivers who came second and third respectively, laid on thick competition throughout the race and Hamilton only made it across the line a second in front. It was exactly what he needed after having a disastrous season so far and it clearly gave him a confidence boost. But, it seems the win didn't do anything to quash his concerns about the car. He told the BBC:
Its game on. This shows it's all to play for but we need to improve the car still in many areas, and that, I'm sure, we will do. Lotus are going to win at some stage. That car looks absolutely fantastic to drive; they are doing a great job.
The victory, which was his second of the season puts him 4th in the championship. Whilst the race proved fruitful for Hamilton, the same couldn't be said for Schumacher who retired with 11 laps to go after picking up a drive through for speeding in the pit lane. Hamilton's team-mate, Jenson Button, also had a bad day and complained the strategy that clearly worked well for Lewis, didn't for him. Button finished 6th and told the BBC:
We decided to go to for a three-stop strategy, but every time I pitted, even though the tyres were good, I pitted into traffic. I'm not happy with the strategy, but happy where we've taken the car.
It was great to see Lotus doing so well with a double podium finish and subsequently flying the flag for British car making, they're a great national emblem in my opinion! And it seems you can never have too many Twitter followers! Following his win, Hamilton said the tweets of support from his 950,000 followers, make a "big difference" and he appealed for more! So guys, if you are not already following Lewis (@LewisHamilton), get on it! And when you do, make sure you say hi from me!
