With the Singapore Grand Prix just days away, Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen, has said he has a podium finish in sight. This goal astonishes me because he has yet to leave the flood-lit race with a point! Raikkonen crashed in 2008 and subsequently finished 15th and then in 2009 he finished 10th, for which he received no points. Kimi insists his speed wasn't to blame for the disastrous finishes and is confident it will get him his seventh podium win of the season. He said:
I have some unfinished business after my two GPs there so far, as I have never scored a point. That doesn’t mean I’m not quick there as I’ve been told I still hold the lap record from 2008. I crashed while fighting for fifth place that year.
Whilst Kimi is confident about Singapore, he isn't too sure about the outcome of the season:
It’s impossible to say how this season will turn out, but we’re very close to second. We’ll see what happens in the next few races.
He is currently in third, just 38 points behind Alonso who is leading. Can Raikkonen claim his second World Championship title? I think he could...although maybe I'm being sold by Raikonnen's confidence!
